Dealing with the accounts people in California total opposite. They get no stars. Mostly incompetent people answer the phone and transfer you to somebody who has no inclination in helping resolve issues. Still waiting after 9 calls over past 4 months for an itemized statement of charges so I can pay the first 3 months of therapy. The PT department is worth the hassle from accounts department. The care is top notch.
My mom spent about 10 days at Gateway. It is a wonderful place. The employees are kind, her care was good, the building is clean and the food was good. I know these aren't easy jobs but Gateway employees try to make it look easy. No place is perfect but Gateway came pretty close. Thank you all.
The care at this place was subpar at best. My family member left there only to be admitted back to hospital the same day. We never got straight answers on anything from whether he had his meds to when and what tests would be done. He was left to sit in common area with dirty clothes on and was there for four days before he had a bath. Please take heed when considering this place for your loved ones care. I personally would not board an animal at this place.
I don't recommend! If you are there in the evening you will see that the employees like to stand around and talk or wonder off somewhere while your loved one sits in the same dirty clothes for days. The therapy part is fine but the care in the evening is horrible. I'm afraid someone is going to get hurt there. Meds were not given and no communication with the family to let them know what's happening. A patient fell while we were there and it took three pages to get their nurse to come to their room with the last time saying STAT. That is not the care these people need while being there.
I picked Gateway Rehabilitation Center for my physical therapy because I thought they were number one one of their CNA instructed me right after I got out of surgery to push myself in a wheelchair down the hallway which hurt my back and wrecked the scar tissue on my surgery I don't know what's up with the CNA at Gateway Rehabilitation Center she had no business she was not an occupational therapist or a physical therapist to instruct me to get in a wheelchair and push myself down the hallway which resulted in hurting myself they seem like they're very disoriented here they don't follow the chain of command they don't have a very good pass down and they have lousy communication between the therapist and the floor which in return hurt me even more I suggest that you really do your research before you pick a Gateway Rehabilitation Hospital I suggest you try to find another professional Rehabilitation Center for your physical therapy needs I am very disappointed in Gateway Rehabilitation Hospital which in return sent me back to st. Elizabeth emergency room I explain to San Elizabeth emergency room that I was afraid for my safety to go back there and finish my rehab st. Elizabeth instructed me that it was a double-edged sword and if I didn't go back my insurance wouldn't pay for my stay even though I didn't feel safe and they instructed me to hurt myself I still had to go back there in the unsafe conditions so please do your research before you pick Gateway Rehabilitation Hospital with the 4.5 Stars
I have been an outpatient for the past 7 months in Physical therapy weekly at Gateway. Rae and Dale have been excellent during this time. They are very prompt and courteous and show a great concern for my wellbeing. I would recommend them too anyone requiring PT.
