Read the fine print before you sign up for anything and you'll probably not be disappointed. If you're not willing to commit to this plan long-term, then it most definitely is not for you. Otherwise, it's a great investment.
I also don't know why everyone is complaining about their health plans. I signed up our Beagle when she was just a puppy and she's 7 years old now. The health plan covers her annual exams (including blood work, shots, & fecal exams) plus one teeth cleaning per year. They've saved us THOUSANDS. The only thing we pay for is the heartworm, flea/tick prevention, and to get her nails trimmed & anal glands expressed. We've taken her to be seen ~3-4 times (outside of her annual check-ups) and each time they're friendly and helpful, and the out-of-pocket cost is minimal because we get a discount on those exams as well. We also get a printout of the total cost it would have been without the plan and a running total of how much the plan has saved us.
Very dissatisfied!!!
Banfield has taken care of all my pets. I had no issues when I lost pets to cancel the plans. They absolutely adore my dog and cats. They describe their plans perfectly, at least to me anyway. I knew what I was getting and that my fur babies were going to well taken care of. They showed concern for the babies when one developed a lump and made sure she was comfortable and happy.
The staff is friendly & helpful...I've never had a bad experience.
if your dog gets hit by a car...better get an appt first!
I asked for mediation with their corporate office 3 times. They never got past..."we got your email and someone will be in contact..."
Only interested in money. The main vet is rude. She makes decisions without regard to the client feels. RUN AWAY from them!!!
bad vet! care only about money...
I was a Banfield member for 4 years. As my dog got older the vets insisted I keep her on drugs to suppress her immune system. When she is on those drugs she is miserable. When she isn't...she is happy and full of energy. They want me to give her those meds or else they won't give her vaccines and other meds requiring a needle.
