First & only Time ill eat a captain d’s! Eating the fish was like eating a piece of gum!!
I had a great time here! The food was delicious and the server was nice. I think the guy that helped me was actually the cook, but he stepped up and took my order, made it for me, then served me. He did the job of 3 people easily and I was pretty impressed by that. He even went so far as to tell me about the hours and suggest coming back.
We did take out but the staff was very friendly and made it easy to use our coupons.
This is a fish restaurant with reasonable prices. Fish, shrimp, and chicken tenders.
Fried or baked. Choices of side dishes include green beans, garden verges, cole slaw, mac n cheese, baked potatoes, French fries, fried okra, bread sticks. Hush puppies come with dinner purchase. There is a lot to eat at a meal. Good bargain. And 2 kids eat for 99c each (fish, chicken, or shrimp with 2 sides) on Thursday nights when an adult meal is purchased. Kids meals include a drink. We like Captain D's.
I used to love eating here. It was one of my favorite places to go. Lovely atmosphere, great staff, friendly management. More than your average fast food restaurant. In the last 2 or so years, it has completely did a 360. Your no longer greeted at the door, and if you are it's in a forced, unnatural, sometimes rude attitude. When they bring your trays to the table, they lay them down, it's a "here you go" and they walk away as quickly as they can. Sometimes I just get my tray laid in front of me without them even saying a word. When it used to be a pleasant female/male with a smile walking to the table taking your food off the tray and giving it to each person individually (unless they were busy) but always was it followed by, if you need anything at all don't be afraid to let myself or anyone else know and we will be happy to get it for you. They used to come to your table at least 2 times during your meal and ask you how it was, if you needed refills, most of the time I never even had to get up to go get myself another drink! I mean that succeeds fast food, and any other "fast food" chain in the area.... and that's one of the reasons I loved it there. but things have changed. That kind of service just doesn't happen here anymore. Like I said, I loved this place. I was in AT LEAST once a week. Now all I see is nasty attitudes. I've heard dirty language and nasty conversations spoken loudly enough by the workers the whole dining area can hear it, I've seen a young girl blatantly arguing with a costumer and telling them she isn't going to fix anything about the problem they are having, all while wearing a "manager" badge on her shirt. I've seen the same "manager" roll her eyes at costumers over simple requests, I've witnessed her bad talk costumers after they leave. I've heard her say "god I can't stand these people and I don't get paid enough for all of this" speaking and saying this to crew members, all with costumers in arms length of her, and if I have heard these few things I can't even imagine what a lot of other people have witnessed and heard coming from a girl that was chosen to represent this store and brand. I mean that in itself is a joke! The other employees at the counter, just don't act like they want to be there, and most of the time I'm in eating all they do is sit at the counter or SOMETIMES ON the counter tops in the front, to chat and gossip. I also don't appreciate the fact they eat and drink at the counter if it's slower, but then serve costumers when they get them in between without sanitizing or washing there hands!!! Nothing like it used to be. I have also been here a few times around closing time, (over an hour or an hour and a half before) and was told I couldn't sit in a certain area or booth because they were about to clean it and close it for the night. Never has that been an issue until the past couple of years..... like I said and will say again. It's not the same. The staff, the management especially has completely changed. It's not the captain D's I loved going to. Joe, I don't know what happened to your store. But you lost a costumer that has been coming to your restaurant for over 10 years. I held out long enough hoping it would change only to see it worsen. The damage that has been done to this business I don't even know is redeemable or fixable. The unprofessional horrible behavior that I have seen coming from not only crew members, but with people that you call, and put out on the floor as a manager??? It's a complete disaster. I'm fed up and disgusted at what this place has turned into over the years. Something needs to be done, and fast. Because I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels this way.
